December 13, 2024

9:00 AM - 3:30 p.m. EST

Expanding availability, affordability, and accessibility across urban and rural America

Event overview

Healthy affordable food is essential to health and well-being. Yet too many Americans struggle to access nutritious food in their community.

The Global Food Institute at the George Washington University, Food Systems for the Future, and José Andrés, will be hosting Grocery Retail for All Summit – a gathering of retailers, policymakers, entrepreneurs, academics, community leaders, and other key stakeholders to discuss challenges and advancements in expanding access to retailers in all communities. We will feature promising practices from community and national retail leaders, with an emphasis on exploring ways to increase affordable grocery retail food access across both urban and rural America.

The Summit will serve as a platform for collaboration, sparking dialogue on funding, partnerships, and policy actions needed to ensure nutritious food is available, affordable, and accessible in every neighborhood in the United States.
